What is unrecovered money?
Unrecovered money is generated when a person who is owed funds (money) from the government or any other financial entity can not be found. Often the person owed the funds does not even realise the money is owing to them. When the person can not be found, the money is kept as ‘unrecovered funds’. You could be owed money from unrecovered funds!
Unrecovered funds occur for various reasons, including but not limited to:
> Change of address.
> Family bereavement.
> Liquidation.
> Forgetfulness.
Examples of where unrecovered money may be found include but are not limited to:
> Uncashed cheques.
> Old savings or cheque accounts.
> Inheritances.
> Share dividends.
> Tax refunds.
> Superannuation.
Note: In Australia today there are millions of dollars in unrecovered funds. It is estimated that only 3% of rightful owners ever recover their money, while the other 97% are not aware of their entitlement. This could be you!
